Hastakalaa, meaning “handmade art” in Nepali, is more than just an online shop. It’s a passion project born from a shared love for the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of Nepal. Founded in January 2024 by Ujwal Pokharel and Aayush Pokharel, Hastakalaa brings you a curated collection of handcrafted wooden materials, statues, stone sculptures, Nepali artefacts, thangkas, and more.

While enjoying a cup of coffee at a local cafe, Ujwal sparked the idea for Hastakalaa. He envisioned a platform that could connect talented Nepali artisans with art enthusiasts worldwide, showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of Nepali craftsmanship. He shared his vision with Aayush, whose expertise in digital marketing was the perfect complement to Ujwal’s business acumen. Together, they embarked on a journey to bring Hastakalaa to life.
